Chhath Puja 2023: Sandhya Arghya Time Today, Sunrise Time Tomorrow In Different Indian Cities

The four-day Chhath Puja is marked not only by families but also by people in the neighborhood who enthusiastically participate in the festivities.

Chhath Puja 2023 Evening Arghya Time: The celebration of the significant festival of Chhath has begun, and the fervour of Chhath Puja is visible everywhere. The melodious tunes of Chhathi Maiya's songs resonate in every household, and preparations for the traditional offering, known as Thekua, are underway in the earthen stoves. The four-day Chhath Puja is marked not only by families but also by people in the neighborhood who enthusiastically participate in the festivities.

It's worth mentioning that Chhath Puja commenced on November 17, and after offering Arghya to the rising sun on November 20, Chhath Puja will conclude. While Arghya is offered to the sun on other days as well, Chhath is the only festival where offering Arghya to the setting sun is a tradition.

This conveys the message that after the setting, there is sure to be a rise. Behind this tradition, there is also a belief that when the sun is setting, it resides with its second wife, Pratyusha (the last ray of the sun), and offering Arghya to them brings desired results. The Arghya is offered to the setting sun on the sixth day of Kartik Shukla, which falls on November 19, 2023, this year.

On November 20, 2023, Arghya will be offered to the rising sun on the seventh day of Kartik Shukla. This is known as Usha Arghya or Udyanamana Surya Arghya. Thus, after offering Arghya on these two days, the Chhath Vrat concludes. However, it's crucial to note that during Chhath Puja, Arghya should be offered to the Sun God at the specified times.
