Heavy Rains Likely In Andhra For Next 2 Days As Low Pressure In BoB Expected To Intensify Into Depression
An existing low pressure in the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a depression in two days and hence there is a possibility of heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh.
Heavy rainfall has been predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in parts of Andhra Pradesh for two days from Tuesday, as an existing low pressure over the Bay of Bengal is very likely to intensify into a depression. The weather department said parts of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh (SCAP) and Rayalaseema are expected to receive heavy rainfall. It has predicted lightning with thunderstorms in a few more parts of the same region, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP) and Yanam.
"The low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Andaman & Nicobar Islands with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to the upper tropospheric level persists. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the west-central Bay of Bengal on November 15," said the Meteorological office.
Thereafter, it would move northwestwards and may intensify into a Deep Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast on 16th November. Subsequently, it would recurve north-northeastwards and reach Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast on 17th November.

IMD said the weather is expected to move in the northwest direction and intensify into a deep depression on November 16 over the west-central Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Pradesh coast. Thereafter, the weather is expected to take a recurve in the northeast direction to reach the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast on November 17.
The weatherman added that a trough from the cyclonic circulation is running over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka. As a result, several parts of the southern state are experiencing cloudy weather over the past few days.
IMD has also sounded an orange alert for heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall in Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on November 14.
