Women's Day: Paris's Eiffel Tower lit up to support women's rights

Paris [France], Mar 8 (ANI): The iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris lit up on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday to spell out "Maintenant On Agit" that translates to "Now We Act" supporting women's right on the eve of International Women's Day.

In a brief ceremony on Thursday, the France culture minister Francoise Nyssen and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo will deliver a speech in support of the movement.

The event will be attended by members of various women's rights associations.

The 'Now We Act" movement of France was inspired by the global 'Time's Up' movement launched to fight against sexual exploitation of women at the workplace.

Launched by a non-governmental organisation Foundation of Women, 'Now We Act' aims to raise funds for such associations which help women to pursue legal cases in the court, 'So that no woman ever again has to say 'Time's Up''.

More than 160 French actresses have already joined the 'Now We Act' movement. (ANI)
