Stephen Hawking's funeral held, Eddie Redmayne gives reading
Cambridge [United Kingdom] April. 1 (ANI): Scores of mourners, including Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, on Saturday lined the streets of the British city of Cambridge for the funeral of theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking.
Eddie Redmayne, who gave an address at the service, played Professor Hawking in the 2014 film 'The Theory of Everything' and had won the Best Actor Academy Award for the same.
Felicity Jones played his wife, Jane Hawking.
A host of famous faces showed up at Hawking's funeral, who died peacefully at his home on 14 March, at the age of 76.
Hawking's ashes will be interred at Westminster Abbey later in the year, among some of the greatest scientists in history, Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, reported Al Jazeera.
Hawkings work ranged from the origins of the universe itself, through time travel and probing black holes in space.
He achieved international renown after the publication of "A Brief History of Time" in 1988.
The scientist was mourned by his children Robert, Lucy and Timothy, and they were joined at the funeral by guests including playwright Alan Bennett, businessman Elon Musk and model Lily Cole, according to the reports.(ANI)
