Pak interim PM appoints chief secretaries, IGPs of 4 provinces

Islamabad [Pakistan], June 14 (ANI): Pakistan interim Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk on Wednesday approved the names of new chief secretaries and inspector generals of police (IGP) in all four provinces.

As per a Dawn report, Mulk chaired a federal Cabinet meeting, which was attended by the members of Election Commission of Pakistan and members of provincial governments of the concerned constituencies to discuss the choices for the given posts.

Akbar Hussain Durrani was appointed as the chief secretary of Punjab. He was previously posted as Secretary of Federal Education and Professional Training Division and is due to retire in 2021.

Retired Major Azam Suleman Khan was appointed as chief secretary of Sindh. He was previously posted with Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and will retire in 2021.

Former PAS officer Naveed Kamran Baloch was appointed as chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while Dr Akhtar Nazir is made the chief secretary of Balochistan.

Further, Dr Kaleem Imam was designated as Punjab's Inspector General of Police (IGP), while Amjad Javed Saleemi would take charge in Sindh. Muhammad Tahir and Mohsin Hassan Butt were appointed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan respectively. (ANI)
