Ex-pharma executive Alex Azar to lead HHS Department

Washington D.C. [USA], November 14 (ANI): President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Alex Azar, a former pharmaceutical executive and a top health official during the George W. Bush administration, to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Trump, who is in the Philippines, took to his Twitter handle to announce the same.

"Happy to announce, I am nominating Alex Azar to be the next HHS Secretary. He will be a star for better healthcare and lower drug prices!" Trump tweeted.

Azar served at HHS when Bush was in power in the year 2001 as general counsel.

Until January, Azar worked as a senior executive at Eli Lilly. (ANI)
