Weather Update: Floods And Rain Cause Devastation Across the Country | ABP News
A major bridge over the Son and Mandakini rivers in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag has been washed away due to recent heavy rains. The river’s water level surged excessively, causing the bridge's structure to collapse. This has severely disrupted traffic and supply lines, isolating several villages and towns and causing significant hardship for residents. In response, the Indian Army has provided immediate relief by constructing two temporary bridges to facilitate movement. These bridges are aiding in the evacuation of flood-affected residents and the delivery of relief materials. However, this temporary solution is not enough, and a long-term fix is needed to restore full connectivity and normalcy. Across the country, incessant rains have caused widespread problems, submerging homes, increasing the risk of diseases, and triggering landslides.
