Vijay Rupani Confirmed On Board Crashed AI171 Flight, Passenger Manifest Revealed

Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Ramniklal Rupani was officially confirmed to be on board Air India flight AI171, which crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad for London. A copy of the official passenger manifest, now made public, lists Vijay Rupani seated in Business Class, Seat 2D. His family has also confirmed that he was on the flight.The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a total of 242 people on board—including 230 passengers and 12 crew members—was traveling from Delhi to Ahmedabad and onward to London Gatwick. Tragically, it met with a catastrophic failure shortly after takeoff, bursting into flames and crashing in a residential area close to Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.Among the passengers were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, 1 Canadian, and 1 Portuguese citizen, marking the international scale of this aviation disaster. Many family members are desperately searching for updates, including friends and relatives who had dropped passengers at the airport just hours earlier.DGCA has confirmed that a Mayday call was issued by the aircraft moments before it crashed, indicating a critical failure. The rescue operation continues, with authorities working tirelessly to identify survivors and provide information to grieving families.
