The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hinted at a post-election alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), which is currently allied with Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, as Uttar Pradesh's assembly elections are approaching. On the other side, RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary has turned down the BJP's invitation, asserting that he does not require the party's help. "Do not send this invitation to me, give it to those 700+ farmer families whose houses you have destroyed!!," Jayant Chaudhary tweeted. (a rough translation)
