UP Assembly Special Session: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights State’s Growth, Calls for United Vision for Viksit Bharat
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing the state assembly, emphasized the state's transformation since 2017 and its critical role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047. He thanked both ruling and opposition members for their active participation in a 24-hour marathon discussion, stating it reflects a collective commitment to the nation’s progress. Highlighting UP’s historic spiritual and cultural significance, Yogi said the state has now become the growth engine of India, contributing significantly to national GDP. From a stagnated economy with policy indifference and high crime rates before 2017, he said UP has seen substantial growth: GSDP surged from ₹13 lakh crore to ₹35 lakh crore, per capita income rose from ₹45,000 to ₹1 lakh, and exports have doubled. He also criticized past regimes for nepotism and inefficiency, contrasting them with the current administration's focus on transparency, law and order, infrastructure, and inclusive development. Quoting PM Modi’s mantra, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” Yogi asserted that UP is now known for good governance, peace, and opportunity, paving the way for a globally competitive India.
