SC shows concern of 'irrational freebies', notice served to Centre & EC | Master Stroke

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court sought answers from the Central government and the Election Commission of India (ECI) over the ongoing "tamasha" of political parties promising or delivering irrational giveaways with public cash. The court stated that it will begin by serving notice on the Centre and the ECI, who have now been named respondents. The court will now hear the case after four weeks.
