Robert Vadra Hits Back at Kangana Ranaut's Statement: 'Unfit for Parliament, She is Uneducated'

Robert Vadra, husband of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has criticized BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut for her comments on the farmer protests. Vadra, speaking on August 30, 2024, stated that Ranaut is unfit to remain a Member of Parliament, questioning her competence and suggesting that she lacks the necessary education and concern for the welfare of others. He expressed that Ranaut only thinks of herself and not about women or broader societal issues. Vadra emphasized the importance of women's safety and called for all political parties to unite in addressing this issue. Ranaut, who represents the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, had previously posted a video clip on X (formerly Twitter) where she commented that the farmer protests could have led to a situation akin to "Bangladesh" if not for strong leadership. She also alleged that during the protests, there were reports of bodies hanging and instances of rape, which attracted significant criticism. Other Congress leaders and former Shiromani Akali Dal MP Simranjit Singh Mann also criticized Ranaut's statements, with Mann making a controversial remark about her alleged experience with rape.
