Parliament Standoff: Opposition Uproar Continues, Amit Shah’s Statement Demanded

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings began at 11 AM amid continued tensions between the government and the opposition. The Speaker appealed to MPs to allow Question Hour to function, stressing that Parliament is meant for discussion and dialogue, not protests and slogan-shouting. However, the opposition continued its protest, demanding that Home Minister Amit Shah make a statement in the House regarding the alleged use of pellet guns and police action against students. Due to the uproar, the proceedings were adjourned until 2 PM. The opposition has warned that it will not allow Parliament to function until the Home Minister responds. Amid the deadlock, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju met Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in Parliament to find a possible solution and restore normal functioning. The meeting focused on ending the parliamentary stalemate. However, the opposition remains firm on its demand for Amit Shah’s statement, while the government is attempting to resolve the issue through dialogue.
