Pahalgam Terror Attack: Amit Shah pays tribute to victims; Pakistan distances itself from incident

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent lives were lost and 13 others injured in a brutal act of terrorism. Shah condemned the heinous attack and assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible. His visit comes amid nationwide mourning and mounting anger against terrorism.Meanwhile, Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a controversial statement denying any Pakistani involvement in the attack. Speaking to a local news channel, Asif claimed, “We reject all forms of terrorism and have nothing to do with this incident.” Shockingly, he accused India of internal unrest, suggesting that the attack was a result of domestic rebellion and dissent across regions like Nagaland, Manipur, and Kashmir. His remarks have drawn sharp criticism from Indian authorities, who pointed to credible intelligence suggesting cross-border planning and coordination behind the attack. While India mourns its dead and vows justice, the diplomatic exchange highlights the persistent tension between the two neighbours over terrorism and national security.
