MP Rain Alert: Tapti River Flows Above Danger Mark in Burhanpur

Heavy rainfall continues to affect several parts of Madhya Pradesh, with rising river levels disrupting normal life. In Burhanpur, the Tapti River is flowing above the danger mark, prompting the district administration to issue a high alert. The rising water level has submerged the Lal Temple at Rajghat and several nearby ghats. Police and Home Guard personnel have been deployed to prevent people from approaching the riverbanks, while officials continue to monitor the situation and urge residents to stay away from flooded areas. In Dewas district’s Bagli region, a young man was swept away while attempting to cross a swollen river but managed to save himself by reaching safety. Authorities have once again appealed to the public not to cross flooded rivers or bridges during heavy rains. Meanwhile, on the Indore–Betul National Highway, the Kalisindh River has overflowed, leaving nearly four feet of water flowing over a bridge and causing long traffic jams as vehicles remained stranded on both sides of the highway.
