Mahadangal: KC Tyagi Slams Tejashwi Yadav Over Voter Row, Defends Election Commission | ABP NEWS
On ABP News' primetime show Mahadangal, senior political leader KC Tyagi strongly responded to Tejashwi Yadav’s recent remarks, in which the opposition leader announced that he and Rahul Gandhi would decide whether to contest the upcoming Bihar elections after assessing the public mood during their yatra starting August 17. Tejashwi accused the Election Commission of working under BJP influence and manipulating the voter list through the controversial SIR process. KC Tyagi defended the Election Commission, calling it a constitutional body that has overseen elections even during the rule of RJD leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. He acknowledged minor errors in the voter list but emphasized that dismissing the entire system based on a few mistakes undermines constitutional institutions. Tyagi also pointed out the contradiction in the opposition rejecting Supreme Court and EC decisions when those same institutions have enabled their political success in the past. He condemned the politicization of administrative processes and highlighted the lack of accountability in state-level enforcement, particularly regarding attacks on Biharis in states like Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. He ended by criticizing the growing influence of extremist ideologies and urged political leaders to respect democratic processes.
