Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Abhishek Banerjee Meets Akhilesh Yadav & Uddhav Thackeray | ABP News

Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has made a record for the largest victory margin in West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee has won the Diamond Harbour constituency with a margin of 703,137 votes. Abhishek Banerjee secured 10,48,230 votes. He defeated the BJP's Abhijit Das. Abhijit Das secured 3,37,300 votes. Das protested outside the counting center from the start of the day, alleging manipulation by TMC counting agents.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee won by a margin of around 320,594 votes, breaking the 20-year-old record of former CPI(M) MP Anil Basu. He has broken the record of Anil Basu of CPI(M) who won in Arambagh LS with a margin of 6,82,502 votes in 2004 in the state. Banerjee not only broke that record but also surpassed the 700,000-vote margin, which is unprecedented in West Bengal's electoral history.
