The Supreme Court has established a National Task Force (NTF) to investigate the alleged assault on a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The date for the task force's first meeting has been set for August 27 at 11:30 am. The task force comprises 14 experts and doctors.

This meeting is taking place as most doctors' associations are gradually ending their strike. Following the Supreme Court's directive, the government has become more actively involved in ensuring the protection of doctors, with CISF being deployed at RG Kar Medical College. Additionally, the Union Health Ministry has issued a notification regarding the formation of the task force, including a notice for the first meeting.
