Kishtwar Encounter: Day Two of Intense Anti-Terror Operation in J&K's Forested Hills | ABP NEWS

Security forces have launched a massive anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, which has now entered its second day. Acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of around 20 terrorists hiding in the dense forests of the Singpura area of Chatru, joint teams of the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police have intensified their search. The region, known for its rugged terrain and thick forests, is often used by terrorists as a hideout, making operations highly challenging. The encounter began Thursday morning and has continued with intermittent gunfire. Tragically, Rifleman Sandeep from the 17 Rifles was martyred during the exchange. DGP of Jammu and Kashmir also visited the encounter site on Thursday evening to review the situation. ABP News, reporting from ground zero, captured visuals of troops reinforcing positions and preparing for further engagement. With fresh troops arriving and others retreating after night-long duty, the forces are determined to flush out the militants. Helicopters have been deployed for aerial surveillance. The high-alert operation reflects the seriousness of the threat, and forces are committed to neutralizing all hostile elements. The search continues amid tightened cordons and intensified combing operations.
