Hathras Stampede: BSP Supremo Questions SIT Report | ABP News

A stampede at a religious gathering in Hathras, UP, resulted in over 122 deaths and hundreds of injuries. CM Yogi Adityanath ordered an investigation, leading to the suspension of six officials, including the SDM, Tehsildar, CO, and police officers. SIT's investigation report attributed the tragedy to negligence by event organizers and local authorities, who failed to make adequate arrangements and underestimated the crowd size. The report also gave the clean chit to Bawa Suraj Pal Singh which raises questions over the investigation. The report suggested a conspiracy cannot be ruled out, recommending further investigation. BSP supremo Mayawati raised questions about the report and claimed that the report is politically affected.
