The Election Commission of India is all set to announce the dates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections today, 7th January, during a press conference at 2 PM. According to sources, the elections are likely to be held in a single phase, with voting on 6th February and vote counting on 8th February. The current term of the Delhi Legislative Assembly will end on 23rd February 2025, making the timely announcement crucial. On Monday, the Election Commission released the final voter list for Delhi, which includes a total of 1 crore 55 lakh 24 thousand 858 registered voters, with 71 lakh 73 thousand 952 female voters and 83 lakh 49 thousand 645 male voters. Meanwhile, there have been allegations of undue pressure on election officers in the New Delhi constituency, with AAP leaders Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, and Atishi accusing the authorities of voter manipulation. In a letter to the Delhi CEO, they demanded further details regarding requests for voter name removals. The allegations have added a layer of controversy to the already heated election atmosphere in Delhi.
