Breaking: Yamuna River In Delhi Still Above Warning Mark At 204.76 Metres Despite Decline

According to data recorded at 6 AM today, the water level of the Yamuna River at the Old Railway Bridge in Delhi stands at 204.76 metres. This remains above the warning level, though slightly below the danger mark. Yesterday morning, the river had surged to 205.95 metres, sparking flood concerns across the capital.Since then, water levels have gradually receded, mainly due to regulated discharge from upstream barrages. Around 30,000 cusecs of water continues to be released from the Hathni Kund Barrage toward Delhi, while nearly 90,000 cusecs is being diverted outwards from the Okhla Barrage, helping reduce the flow within the city.Authorities remain on high alert, monitoring the river closely as inflow continues. Low-lying areas along the Yamuna banks are still vulnerable, with residents advised to exercise caution. Relief measures are in place to respond swiftly if water levels rise again. The situation highlights the delicate balance of managing barrage discharges to prevent flooding while ensuring adequate flow downstream.
