According to officials, the confusion arose after a court hearing related to the Imam Bara. Rumours falsely suggested that the court had allowed the site to be opened for six days in view of Muharram observances. However, authorities later clarified that no such order had been issued. The court had only scheduled the next hearing for June 25. Police and administrative officials stationed at the location intervened promptly, appealed for calm, and persuaded the crowd to disperse peacefully.
