Breaking: Dharali Village Cut Off After Cloudburst in Uttarkashi; Rescue Ops Hampered by Landslides
Severe weather conditions and a devastating cloudburst have completely cut off Dharali village in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Multiple landslides and road collapses have made it nearly impossible for rescue teams to reach the affected area. Soldiers from the Army and ITBP are on the ground, working tirelessly to clear debris, construct temporary bridges, and restore road access. However, the continuous rainfall and high river levels are severely hampering progress. BRO teams and SDRF units are working around the clock, but with major roads washed away or blocked by massive boulders, rescue operations are moving slowly. Officials say more than 150 people have been rescued and moved to relief camps. Some critically injured have been transported to hospitals via ambulance. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is conducting aerial surveys, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in direct contact with state authorities, assuring full central support. Locals say the main road was washed away around 4 a.m., and ongoing rain continues to threaten further landslides. As night approaches, hope dims for many still trapped under debris. Relief efforts remain in a race against time, as the terrain, weather, and destruction present immense challenges.
