Master Stroke: Kerala flood hits spice market,shortage in its supply likely to raise kitchen bill
Prices of coffee and common spices like small cardamom, black pepper and nutmeg, mostly supplied from Kerala and Karnataka, have started to rise due to shortage of supplies from these states. According to reports, prices of small cardamoms across the country have risen at least 20 per cent and black pepper and nutmegs have seen a steeper hike of 25 per cent to 50 per cent.
