Journalist J.Dey Murder Case: Gangster Chhota Rajan sentenced to LIFE IMPRISONMENT
A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Wednesday sentenced gangster Chhota Rajan and eight others to life imprisonment in journalist Jyotirmoy Dey murder case.
The court, on the other hand, acquitted Mumbai based journalist Jigna Vora and Paulsen Joseph.
Dey, who was working for English publication Mid Day was shot dead by underworld shooters in 2011 in Mumbai’s Powai, who on the orders of gangster Chhota Rajan; fired 5 bullets in Dey’s body.
At the time of the murder, Dey was riding his bike and the shooters killed him after stalking him for some time. He was immediately taken to the nearby Hiranandani hospital, which declared him ‘brought dead’.
