Former President Pranab Mukherjee in Nagpur to attend RSS function as chief guest
Former president Pranab Mukherjee today arrived in Nagpur on a three-day tour. Here, he will attend a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event amid criticism from opposition parties over his decision to accept the invite.
Previously, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had invited former President Pranab Mukherjee to be the chief guest at the concluding function of "Tritiya Varsh Varg" or third-year course and address the swayamsevaks on Thursday, 7 June.
At the airport, RSS members welcomed him on his arrival at Nagpur airport. As per the schedule, Mukherjee will be staying at Raj Bhavan.
On Thursday, he will address the newly recruited RSS workers at their graduation ceremony in Nagpur.
Akhil Bhartiya Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar had earlier said that Pranab had given his consent to participate in the programme. However, Mukherjee had said “Whatever I have to say, I will say in Nagpur. I have received several letters, requests, and phone calls, but I haven’t responded to anyone yet,”
