Poster War Escalates in UP: BSP Hits Back at 'Batenge To Katenge' with New Hoardings
In the upcoming by-elections for nine Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has launched a new slogan in response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s rallying cry of “Batenge toh Katenge”. The BSP’s new slogan, displayed on a prominent poster outside its Lucknow office, reads, “Judenge To Jeetenge,” directly targeting both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP). The large hoarding outside the BSP office, installed by party leader Mohammad Sarwar Malik, features BSP Chief Mayawati and her successor, Akash Anand, at the top, with photos of Malik and former BSP mayoral candidate from Lucknow, Shaheen Bano, at the bottom. The slogan, first shared by Mayawati on social media, reflects her appeal for voters to rally around the BSP, emphasizing that BJP and SP are distracting people from key issues. She asserts that by joining the BSP, people will progress and remain secure. The BSP is contesting the UP by-elections independently, and Mayawati stated that their participation has left both the BJP and SP uneasy. She claims the BJP is attempting to mislead voters with slogans to weaken opposition. The nine seats up for election are Karhal, Sisamau, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Phulpur, Majhawan, Katehari, Khair, and Meerapur. Voting is scheduled for November 20, and the results will be announced on November 23.
