Kerala News : Uproar amid PFI protest over NIA action

The Islamic organization Popular Front of India (PFI) in Kerala has called for a statewide shutdown in protest against the NIA raids. The Kerala High Court has condemned this move of PFI. Taking suo moto cognizance of the matter, the High Court has said that no one can call a bandh without permission.

The Kerala High Court said, "In the order dated 7 January 2019, it was said that no one can call for bandh in the state without prior notice of seven days." The court has directed the state government to take strict action against those who violate this order. The court said that damage to public property cannot be accepted. It also said that immediate action should be taken on incidents of violence in the state.
