US Woman, 71, Recognised By Guinness World Records As World's Oldest Female Ninja
According to the GWR, MacColl's daughter inspired her to take up sports and she decided to begin her journey into ninja warrior competitions at the age of 66.
Virginia Lenore MacColl from the US has proved that age is just a number. The 71-year-old has been recognised as the oldest female ninja by Guinness World Records (GWR). A video showcasing her navigating obstacle courses filled with a variety of challenges has also released by the company. Climbing, jumping, and swinging from a bar were some of the activities that MachColl had to perform.
"Oldest competitive ninja athlete (female) Competed at the age of 70 years 90 days - Ginny MacColl," read the caption of the post shared along with the video by Guinness World Records on Instagram.
According to the GWR, MacColl's daughter inspired her to take up sports and she decided to begin her journey into ninja warrior competitions at the age of 66. Jessie Graff, MacColl's daughter has also participate in American Ninja Warrior.
"While I cheered for my daughter Jessie Graff, I found inspiration in her strength, grace, and health," said MacColl to GWR.
Sharing her secret about keeping fit at such an age for the competition, the record holder said she relies on a "Mediterranean diet consisting of fish and veggies, some chicken, and turkey." She also said that she makes sure to stay away from dairy products or soda and limit her sugar consumption as much as she can.
Speaking to GWR about achieving the feat at such an age, MacColl said, "Age and inexperience should never be a barrier. It’s just part of the journey."
The video since being shared on Instagram by the company has received more than 3.4 lakh views and 11,000 likes. While the comments box is filled with congratulatory messages. Some also took to write how MacColl has inspired them to keep fit.
