'Cereal Burglar': Thief Cooks Khichdi In Middle Of Burglary Attempt In Assam, Arrested

On Tuesday, Assam Police took to Twitter to tell the story of a robber who was apprehended after deciding to prepare khichdi during a break-in attempt.

New Delhi: Making khichdi may not always be good for your well-being. A thief learnt the lesson after he decided to cook khichdi while attempting to burgle a house in Guwahati and was arrested in the process.

On Tuesday, Assam Police took to Twitter to tell the story of a robber who was apprehended after deciding to prepare khichdi during a break-in attempt.

"The curious case of a cereal burglar! Despite its many health benefits, turns out, cooking Khichdi during a burglary attempt can be injurious to your wellbeing. The burglar has been arrested and @GuwahatiPol (Guwahati Police) is serving him some hot meals," Assam Police tweeted.

According to a report in The Hindu, the thief broke into a house in Guwahati's Hengerabari area while the owners were away. Neighbours smelt something fishy after they heard noises from the kitchen of the house. Knowing that the owners were away, neighbours caught the thief and handed him over to police.

The tweet has garnered more than 500 likes since it was shared. People have also posted hilarious comments in response to the tweet.
