‘Scariest Moment Of My Life’: British Tourist’s Terrifying Encounter With Monkeys In Thailand Goes Viral

A British tourist's terrifying encounter with a group of monkeys at a Thailand hotel pool went viral. Kane Smith captured the moment on camera, calling it the "scariest moment" of his life

A British tourist had a shocking and unforgettable experience while vacationing in Thailand when a group of monkeys surrounded him at a hotel swimming pool. The entire ordeal was captured on camera and has since gone viral on social media.

Kane Smith, the tourist in question, posted the footage of the incident on TikTok on March 19. The video quickly gained traction across multiple platforms, drawing widespread attention from users.

The now-viral video begins with Smith relaxing in a hotel swimming pool when monkeys gradually start gathering around him. Initially, the situation appears harmless, but it soon escalates as more monkeys seemingly appear out of nowhere. Smith, visibly distressed, attempts to move away while the monkeys slowly close in on him.

“No, go away,” he can be heard saying in the footage, trying to keep the primates at bay. Some monkeys are seen drinking water from the pool, while others roam around, undeterred by Smith’s efforts to shoo them away. As they continue to encircle him, Smith warns, “Don’t come near me,” and admits, “I’m scared.”

Smith eventually manages to exit the pool, but the monkeys persist in following him. However, when he makes a loud noise, they hesitate, allowing him the chance to escape safely.

“Honestly the scariest moment of my life. I apologise for all the swearing… kinda thought my life was about to end.. started off with 1 monkey and then a full gang suddenly appeared,” Smith captioned the video on Instagram.

The video has sparked a mix of reactions online, with some social media users sympathizing with Smith’s fear, while others found humor in the unexpected wildlife encounter. While monkey encounters are common in some parts of Thailand, experts often advise tourists to exercise caution.

One of the users commented under and said,"Sir, why is there no part two? Did they harm you? Have you been captured? Are you sharing this from the other side?" Whereas another one wrote, "You proved it again brother that cameraman never dies."

A third one said, "The one literally laughed at you when he walked up thinkin like this guy has ZERO SURVIVAL SKILLS glad you’re still here tho & with a hilarious story to tell."
