London: Chaos Ensues After Heathrow Airport's Baggage System Fails. Passengers Travel Without Luggage
After the baggage system fails at Heathrow airport, passengers were asked to leave their bags taking over 2 hours to check-in some even had to fly without their baggage.
New Delhi: London's Heathrow airport, considered to be the largest and busiest in the UK, suffered a technical glitch in the Terminal 2 baggage system leaving hundred of bags piled up at level 0. The staff was collecting all the luggage and piling it in one place, though this caused delays at check-in, several passengers travelled without their bags. The travellers took to social media to share videos and photos of the sad state of affairs at the airport.
Passengers said that they were to leave their baggage at level 0 and it will reach them within one or two days. Another passenger said that there is a 50-50 chance that their baggage may reach them. Many passengers slammed the airport for being underprepared for the situation.

A user, Brenton, tweeted a video from inside the airport where he said that "all the baggage belts in Terminal 2 of the airport had stopped working".
"We had to queue up our luggage and we were told that security would watch it so that we could go through security, and maybe our luggage might make it to the plane with a 50-50 shot", he added.

However, the technical glitch was resolved and the baggage system started working, the airport authorities apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and they will try to reunite the bags with their owners.
A spokesperson for Heathrow airport told BBC that some passengers may have had to travel without their luggage. She said, "Earlier today there was a technical issue with the Terminal 2 baggage system which has now been resolved ... We are working closely with airlines to reunite passengers with their luggage as soon as possible. We're sorry there's been disruption to passenger journeys."
