New Delhi: Indigo Airlines on Mother’s Day shared a special video of a mother-son pilot duo that went viral on the internet. The video which has received over 834K likes, and over 4.5K comments is about a son giving a special homage to his mother in front of the passengers. Aman Thakur first presented his mother with a bouquet and spoke about how for nearly 24 years, he flew around on various flights as a passenger while his mother was the pilot. But for the first time, his mother was the passenger while he flew the aircraft.

"As you all know today is Mother’s Day and I am sure you must be pouring all your love on your mothers. I would also like to make a small homage to my mom," he spoke into the in-flight phone. "Thank you so much mom, for everything you have done for me. And for always being there for me."

Users were touched by the son's gesture, and the comment section was filled with appreciations. "What more than this a mother can expect. Great gesture from this Pilot son" said one user. "The best gift to her is that he chose her profession as his career!", said another one.

A third person said it must have been a proud and overwhelming moment for the mother. "Just love it. Love for a mother is so beautifully expressed in a unique manner. God bless you."

However, just a day earlier the airline landed in hot waters after refusing to let a handicapped adolescent on board stating the panicked boy was a risk to other passengers. Issuing a statement, IndiGo said, "In view of the safety of passengers, a specially-abled child could not board the flight with his family on May 7, as he was in a state of panic." The ground staff waited for him to calm down till the last minute but to no avail, it said.

Later, the CEO made a similar statement saying after reviewing all aspects, the staff made a very difficult decision under the circumstances. Calling his parents “heroes” for taking care of their specially-abled child the airline further offered to buy the child an electric wheelchair.
