‘How Is This Happening In…?’Man Seen Sipping ‘Alcohol’ And Eating Boiled Egg In Delhi Metro

A viral video shows a commuter drinking a yellow liquid, allegedly alcohol, while cracking a boiled egg on the side handrail and eating it. The video has sparked outrage on X.

Delhi Metro often finds itself at the center of viral moments—be it people dancing, fighting, or creating bizarre and hilarious videos. However, the latest incident seems to have taken public comfort to an entirely new level. In a video that has now gone viral, a man was recorded inside a metro coach casually sipping a drink and eating a boiled egg, sparking outrage across social media.

A video of the man allegedly consuming alcohol and pairing it with a boiled egg inside a Delhi Metro coach has drawn sharp criticism online. Shared widely by users on platform X (formerly Twitter), the clip shows him holding a whiskey glass filled with a pale yellow liquid—resembling an alcoholic beverage—while nonchalantly cracking a boiled egg on the handrail beside him.

An X user with the handle ‘Coolfunnytshirt’ posted the viral clip with the caption, “How is this happening in metro trains? Even if for making reels?”

The footage captures the man casually pulling out an egg from his bag and cracking it against the metro’s handrail before peeling it and discarding the shell into a plastic cover—though some bits are seen falling onto the coach floor. He is then seen sipping the drink, believed by some users to be alcohol, a prohibited substance inside metro premises.

While several news outlets have reported the liquid in his glass as alcohol, there has been no official confirmation from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) or any other authority so far.

Users Reaction To The Viral Video

Social media users expressed their anger in the comments section. One user remarked, “There was nothing else in beg. Saaf hai ki reel banaane ke liye hi aisi harkate kar raha hai yeh.” Another wrote, “The worst part is his fearless impunity & the best part is his concern towards litter !”

Another comment pointed to stricter enforcement in other countries, stating, “But he made the train dirty! In Dubai - one cannot eat in trains, not put their feet up on seats! This is the way public property remains intact. Anyone not following rules should be HEAVILY fined!”

The video has reignited concerns around the misuse of public transport spaces for social media content creation. Many netizens have urged DMRC to take strict action and increase surveillance to prevent such incidents in the future.
