YSRTP Chief YS Sharmila Says Telangana Budget Is Like 'Old Wine In New Bottle'

YS Sharmila demanded an answer from the government on last year's budget allocations and expenses.

YSR Telangana Party President, YS Sharmila, claimed that the Telangana state's new budget is like "old liquor into a new bottle." Speaking to the media during Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on Tuesday in Warangal, Sharmila demanded that the Telangana government come out clear on last year’s allocations and spending.

"In the last budget, the BRS allocated Rs 12,000 crores for double bedroom houses and Rs 17,000 crores for Dalit Bandhu. There is no change, as the current allocation looks like a copy and paste of the previous one. But, where is the expenditure and why has there been no execution?" Sharmila remarked.

Sharmila claimed that for the past eight years, not a single promise made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been fulfilled. She demanded an answer from the government on last year's budget allocations and expenses.

Sharmila also responded to the low allocation of funds in the budget for the farmer loan waiver scheme. She said that Rs 19,000 crores of funds are required for the farmer loan waiver scheme in the state, but Rs 6,000 crores have been allocated in the budget.

On Monday, YS Sharmila slammed Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao over his remarks that Nanded in Maharashtra recorded the highest number of farmer suicides in the country.

YS Sharmila said, "I am putting forward three reports in front of you." The report of the National Crime Records Bureau, the Telagana police department, and Raithu Swaraj Vedhika. The three reports give an official report that 8,000 farmers have committed suicide in Telangana in the last eight years. If the officially reported suicides are this high, what about the ones not reported?" .

YS Sharmila targeted the BRS president and demanded an answer for the farmer deaths in the state.

"If farmers without lands or people not listed as farmers commit suicide, they are not included in the list. There are so many that are not reported here. "There might be around 40 percent more suicides," she added.
