KCR's dream temple project is a look-alike of the Balaji temple in Tirumala located in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The temple was renovated at a cost of a whopping Rs 1,800 crore and it took five years to revamp the ancient cave shrine of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

It was initially confined to 2,500 sq yards but the temple has been spread over by sprawling 14.5 acres after the mega project of revamping taken up by the Telangana government.

The government has roped in Chennai-based company, Smart Creations, for the special gopuram (main dome) covered with overall 125 kgs of gold. The company has given a 50-year warranty to the kalasams that were gold plated, said an India Today report. 52 such kalasams have been implanted across the temple.

The architectural maverick has been constructed with 2.5 lakh black granite blocks with the help of over 2,000 sculptors tens and thousands of workers. The reconstruction of the Yadadri temple complex took over five-and-a-half years and still the revamping works are underway.
