Telangana: Water Tank Collapses At Warangal Railway Station, 4 Passengers Injured
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when the 64,000-litre capacity water tank gave way, causing the GI sheets to cave in and water to cascade down onto the passengers.
Four passengers were injured at the Warangal railway station in Telangana when a water tank collapsed on Friday. The incident took place on platform number one, where the passengers were waiting for their train. According to IANS, the overhead water tank with a capacity of 64,000 litres collapsed, causing the GI sheets to cave in and water to pour down on the passengers. As a result, the individuals were swept onto the tracks and sustained injuries.
The injured passengers were immediately taken to MGM Hospital, where two of them were discharged after receiving first aid. The railway authorities provided compensation of Rs. 25,000 each to these individuals. The remaining two injured passengers, both senior citizens, are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Railway officials have assured that the necessary medical care will be provided, and the railways will bear the entire cost of treatment. Additionally, a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh is being granted to the injured individuals.

In a separate incident on Thursday, the Chennai-Bengaluru Express came to a halt in Chittoor after smoke was noticed emanating from the engine. Railway DRM Kusuma Hariprasad stated that the smoke was due to brake failure while the train was en route from Gudiyattam Railway Station to Bangalore.
According to railway officials, smoke was noticed minutes after the train passed through Gudiyattam Railway Station. However, there were no casualties reported, and the railway crew resolved the issue and flagged off the train.
