Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has emphasised the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and called for its inclusion in the education curriculum. During a meeting with senior officials of the Education Department and vice-chancellors of universities at his camp office in Tadepalli on Thursday, the Chief Minister urged them to bridge the gap between educational goals and achievements in light of the global changes taking place.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significant role of vice-chancellors in higher education and proposed a two-pronged strategy to keep pace with emerging technologies. He emphasized the adoption of AI in the education system to enhance teaching methods and learning skills. Furthermore, he stressed the need to impart AI-creating skills to students and incorporate AI into the curriculum.
"We should be part of the fourth revolution, becoming its creators and not merely followers. If we take the right steps at the right time, we will become part of emerging technologies. As AI grows, one section becomes its creator, and another section follows. We should become its creators," stated the Chief Minister.
In the field of medical education, the Chief Minister underscored the need to transform teaching methods by introducing AI and robotics. He also emphasized the importance of revising the syllabus to align with emerging technologies. Additionally, he acknowledged the role of technology in agriculture and highlighted the significance of teaching modern agricultural methods to students and children.
Drawing inspiration from Western countries, the Chief Minister emphasized the incorporation of practical applicability and the revamping of teaching methods, question paper preparation, and examination methods by adopting emerging technologies.
