Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday said that initiatives undertaken by the Telangana government, such as the prestigious Yadadri Ultra Mega Thermal Power Project with a capacity of 4,000 MW, will bring honour to the entire country.
CM KCR inspected the construction of a power plant near Veerlapalem in the Nalgonda district's Damaracharla Mandal. He stated that initiatives like the Yadadri Thermal Power Project are done in the public sector without succumbing to corporate pressure for the benefit of the farmers and Telangana people.
The chief minister directed energy minister Jagadish Reddy, Transco and Genco Chairman and Managing Director Prabhakar Rao and BHEL officials to complete the project at the earliest. He enquired about the progress in the construction of the plant.
KCR stated that steps should be taken to ensure that the coal reserves required for the plant's operation be maintained for at least 30 days. Given the significance of the power project, authorities are advised to act proactively and make suitable decisions in the event of other operations, including coal reserves.
