People Who Question BJP’s Failures Being Targeted, Says BRS MLC Kavitha

Kavitha stated that the media is being used by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to character assassinate the opposition

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha claimed on Monday that the BJP government at the centre is targeting the people who are questioning it. She asked the Center why eminent people were being troubled in India.

While addressing a meeting of the Telangana Jagruthi, a cultural organisation, in Hyderabad on Monday, Kavitha stated that the media is being used by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to character assassinate the opposition.

Kavitha said that through select leaks of false news and manipulation of the media, character assassination was being done.

"They are using agencies to attack. I am not alone. Whoever speaks, the agencies are speaking to them. This is happening across the country. "We don't care," she said.

Kavitha urged the Telangana Jagruthi to prepare for a similar movement in order to raise awareness across the country. She said people need to be told that if opposition is targeted by misusing institutions, they will be the ultimate losers.

Recalling the efforts made by the Telangana Jagruthi to unite intellectuals, writers, poets, and artists to create awareness among people of the need to fight for statehood for Telangana, she said that there is a historic necessity for the organisation to replicate itself across the country.

"Someone once told me not to make women cry." I don't know about others, but Telangana women have fire in their eyes, not tears. "There is no question of stepping back," she said.

Kavitha alleged that the BJP is toppling democratically elected governments in states. Calling this an assault on democracy, she slammed the media for glorifying it.
