Owaisi Sheltering Terrorists In Hyderabad: BJP's Bandi Sanjay On Arrest Of People Linked To Hizb-Ut-Tahrir
Expressing concern over the arrest of five people in Hyderabad for their suspected links with HUT, Sanjay said Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi sheltered the terrorists.
Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has said Hyderabad had become a "shelter" for terrorist organisations like Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HUT). Expressing concern over the arrest of five people in Hyderabad for their suspected links with HUT, a radical outfit, Sanjay demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao conduct an official probe on the matter.
He also claimed that Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his party, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), sheltered the terrorists.
"What we have always been stating and feared is turning out to be true with the latest arrest of the most dangerous terrorists. Earlier, Majlis leader Asaduddin Owaisi had offered to help those living illegally, like Rohingyas, when they were arrested. He has gone a step further by providing shelter to terrorists from Pakistan and Bangladesh,” said Sanjay as quoted by The Hindu.
The BJP leader alleged that both BRS and Congress were not bothered about the safety of the people of Hyderabad and only want to come to power with the support of minority votes.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Madhya Pradesh police arrested five suspects from Hyderabad for their alleged links to the radical Islamist group HUT. In an operation conducted in coordination with the local police and central agencies, the ATS arrested the suspects, including the head of the biotechnology department at a local college, a cloud service engineer, and a dentist , said IANS.
The suspects hail from Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and other places and have been residing in Hyderabad for some time now. They were picked up from Golconda, Hafiz Baba Nagar, and other places in and around Hyderabad.
The arrests were made based on the information collected from 11 other suspects held earlier in the day in Bhopal and Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh. Intelligence agencies reportedly found that Mohammed Saleem from Bhopal was working as a lecturer in biotechnology at a college here. Abdul Rehman, from Odisha, was working as a cloud service engineer at a firm.
