India's Largest Stem Cell Manufacturing Lab To Be Set Up In Hyderabad At Cost Of $54 Million

The facility, which will employ around 150 persons, will focus on stem cell therapy.

US-based StemCures will set up India's largest stem cell manufacturing lab in Hyderabad in Telangana that will focus on stem cell therapy, IANS reported. The facility will be built at an estimated investment potential of USD 54 million and an employment potential of around 150 persons over a few phases.

The announcement was made after Dr Sairam Atluri, founder of StemCures, met with Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao in Boston, USA. The proposed plant's goal will be to use the most recent technology and expertise from the US to create the highest-quality stem cell products at affordable prices for treating various serious medical problems.

Minister KTR said, "Stem cell therapy is a promising new treatment for a variety of conditions, and I am confident that StemCures will provide high-quality care to patients in India. I look forward to working with the clinic to make stem cell therapy more accessible to patients in India".

"It is so heartening to see Hyderabad, my hometown, transforming into a vibrant hub for medical innovations. Setting up an R&D facility was seamless, and now we are looking forward to expanding with the manufacturing plant," Atluri said.

Hyderabad is home to more than a thousand life sciences companies, including the top ten pharmaceutical firms. Through their specialised centres, four of the top ten global innovators now have a direct presence in Hyderabad. These centres power essential R&D, engineering, and digital activities, helping to deliver affordable, life-saving treatments and equipment to patients all around the world , said IANS.

StemCures is a medical clinic in Ohio that specialises in stem cell therapy. It is an FDA-compliant clinic.

Stem cell therapy is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that uses the patient's own stem cells to treat a variety of conditions. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can become any type of cell. When injected into an injured or diseased area, stem cells can help repair tissue, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
