Hyderabad: Student Jumps To Death From College Hostel Building, Police Launch Probe

The purported suicide occurred at the Narayana College hostel, located in the Bachupally area of Nizampet.

A 16-year-old girl, who had recently enrolled in a private junior college in Hyderabad, purportedly jumped to her death from the fifth floor of the hostel building on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident took place at the Narayana College hostel, located in the Bachupally area of Nizampet. Residents of the hostel discovered the body of the Class-11 student lying on the ground in a pool of blood and immediately informed the college authorities.

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and shifted the girl's body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. The girl, hailing from Kamareddy town, had joined the college only a week ago and was residing in the hostel.

The motive behind the girl's extreme step remains unknown, and authorities are investigating whether she left behind a suicide note. The police have informed the student's family, and a case has been registered at KPHB Police Station under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Earlier, a student of a government medical college in Telangana's Nizamabad district died by suicide. M Sanath (22), a student in his second year of MBBS, hanged himself in his hostel room at Nizamabad Medical College.

On receipt of the information, police rushed to the college, shifted the body for autopsy, and took up an investigation. Police examined Sanath's mobile phone and found that he sent a text message to his parents at 3.11 am. before taking the extreme step.
In this message, he apologised to his parents and brother. He also requested that his brother Sai come from the United States and stay with his parents.

Hailing from the Peddapalli district, Sanath had recently appeared for second-year theory exams, while practical exams were scheduled for Monday. According to college principal Indira, Sanath had studied with classmates till 2 a.m. Later, the students left for their respective rooms.

Police said he was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a bed sheet.
