Hyderabad: Five-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Apartment's Swimming Pool In Narsingi

A five-year-old boy drowned after falling into a swimming pool at an apartment building in Hyderabad. The incident occurred at an apartment in Puppalguda, which falls under Narsingi Police Station limits, on Tuesday night.

Devansh was playing with his friends on the third floor when he accidentally slipped and fell in the pool. His father, Ravi, who is a software engineer, rushed Devansh to the hospital. However, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

According to the IANS report, the incident was reported to the Narsingi Police Station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway.

On Wednesday, a 23-year-old Indian student from Andhra Pradesh drowned while swimming near a waterfall in Ontario, Canada. A family member confirmed that Polukonda Lenin Naga Kumar (23) drowned while swimming in Silver Falls.

Naga Kumar, a resident of Chintaguntapalem near Machilipatnam, was living in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He went swimming at Silver Falls with his three roommates when tragedy struck..

Naga Kumar's paternal uncle, Venugopala Rao, said they received the information from his friends.

Two of his friends were sitting on the water body's bank while Lenin and another friend went for a swim downstream. "Lenin knows swimming. He even went inside and came back to the bunk once. On the second attempt, he somehow drowned," Rao was quoted as saying by TOI.

According to Rao, his nephew went to Canada in August 2021 to pursue an MS degree at the University of Lakehead. After completing his studies, he was currently searching for a job. In the meantime, Naga Kumar was working part-time as a supervisor at a restaurant.

When others saw him struggling in the water, they called the emergency response. However, by the time rescuers arrived, Naga Kumar had died.
