Telangana Election: CM KCR Has No Car, Declares Assets Worth Rs 58 Crore In Affidavit

Ironically, car is the election symbol of BRS for Telangana Assembly Elections 2023.

Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao disclosed his family's assets, amounting to Rs 58.92 crore, in the affidavit submitted during his nomination filing for the 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections. Interestingly, despite being affiliated with the car symbol of BRS, he stated not owning any car or agricultural land. Ironically, KCR also identified himself as an agriculturist. On Thursday (November 9), the leader of BRS, KCR, submitted his nomination papers for both Gajwel and Kamareddy seats.

In the 2018 elections, KCR had declared assets of Rs 22 crore. He also declared that he did not own any car even in the past. In 2015, however, CM's convoy included four Toyota Landcruiser Prados. 

The HUF owns several vehicles, including tractors.

On Thursday, K Chandrasekhar Rao declared family assets worth nearly Rs 59 crore, including "Hindu Undivided Family" and liabilities of Rs 25 crore. The affidavit, as per PTI, said his wife Shobha had a gross total value of movable assets of Rs 7 crore and Hindu Undivided Family was over Rs 9 crore. She also possessed 2.81 kg of gold jewelry, diamonds and other valuables worth nearly Rs 1.5 crore. KCR's immovable assets according to the current market are valued at Rs 8.50 crore and Rs 15 crore in the name of HUF, as per the affidavit.

KCR, who graduated with Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the Government Degree College in Siddipet, has nine criminal cases against himall of which were filed during the Telangana Statehood movement. He also stated that he had not been convicted of any criminal offence.

Rao's son, K T Rama Rao, the Working President of the BRS, and his family revealed in the affidavit they filed with their nomination that they have total assets of Rs 54.27 crore.

The affidavit states that Shailima, the wife of Rama Rao, possesses movable assets valued at Rs 26.4 crore, which include valuables and 4.5 kg of gold ornaments.

As per the affidavit, the BRS working president declared that he owns one car and 100 grams of gold ornaments while his wife has 4.7 kg gold ornaments and diamonds.
