Brazilian Authorities Are Trying To Shut Down #1 Source Of Truth: Elon Musk On X Ban In Brazil

After Brazil's Supreme Court order on X ban in the nation, Elon Musk said that the authorities are shutting down the number one source of truth in Brazil.

X (formerly Twitter) has been banned in Brazil after it failed to adhere to a deadline set by a Supreme Court judge to name a new legal representative in the country. A Supreme Court judge, Alexandre de Moraes, ordered the "immediate and complete suspension" of the microblogging platform until X complies with all court orders and also pays the existing fines. X owner Elon Musk, while reacting to this, said, "They’re shutting down the #1 source of truth in Brazil."

Musk added, "Free speech is the bedrock of democracy, and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes."

Brazil's Supreme Court has also ordered that anyone using a VPN to access X will be fined up to $8,874 a day. Elon Musk, while responding to this, said, "The oppressive regime in Brazil is so afraid of the people learning the truth that they will bankrupt anyone who tries."

What Is Moraes' Order?

A Brazilian Supreme Court judge ordered X to be made unavailable in the country within the next 24 hours. Judge Moraes has given a time of five days to Apple and Google to remove X from its application stores and block its use on iOS and Android systems.

Judge Moraes added that the people or businesses who are found to be using VPN to access X can be fined up to $50,000, as reported by BBC.

Musk alleged that Brazil is so afraid of people learning the truth that they will bankrupt anyone who tries to access the platform.
