Smart Rings Next Big Thing?

In a fascinating development, industry leaders Samsung and Apple are reportedly collaborating on the creation of revolutionary smart rings. These upcoming gadgets are expected to incorporate a wide range of health-monitoring capabilities similar to those seen in traditional smartwatches. All of these advanced functionalities will be elegantly enclosed within the modest design of a ring.

A recent finding has come to light indicating that Samsung has successfully obtained the trademark for the term "Curio." Additionally, reports from GalaxyClub suggest that the South Korean company has also secured trademarks for several other names that could be closely associated with their upcoming smart ring. Among these options are "Galaxy Feel" and "Galaxy Glia." These names now join a growing collection of trademarks such as "Circle," "Galaxy Ring," "Galaxy One," "Index," "Insight," "Pulse," and "Rhythm." This assortment of trademarks hints at the potential range of models or features that Samsung might include in its smart ring lineup.

Apple has also entered the smart ring sector. Recent reports reveal that the prominent tech company based in Cupertino has been granted a patent detailing the concept of an "input device ring with pressure-sensitive controls." As per the documentation released by the US Patent Office on Tuesday, this patent (US 11733790 B2) presents the idea of a versatile wearable ring that can offer pressure-sensitive controls and deliver haptic feedback for notifications.

Trump Gets Arrested, Then Returns To X

Donald Trump is gradually assuming the role of a caricature of his own persona. To substantiate this assertion, one can simply observe his booking photo from Fulton County Jail. This picture was taken subsequent to his apprehension on charges of election-related misconduct and conspiracy in Georgia. Following a brief period of confinement, he secured his release on a bail amounting to $200,000. It's worth noting that he is the sole former US president to have a mugshot.

Subsequent to this incident, he took to the platform X (previously known as Twitter). In an astonishing manner, he utilised this situation to publicise his website. On this platform, he implores for contributions to sustain his campaign for the presidential election. The image from his arrest portrays Trump with a resolute countenance, arguably exuding a sense of determination. This seems rather paradoxical considering he had indicated his intention to surrender earlier in the same week. However, what is even more perplexing is his transformation of the mugshot into a tool for self-promotion. Alongside the image, he shared a message: "ELECTION INTERFERENCE! NEVER SURRENDER!"

Musk To Change How News Looks Like On X

In a strategic move with the potential to bring about significant changes for news publishers, Elon Musk is leading an innovative change in how news links are presented on his social media project, X (formerly known as Twitter). This well-calculated adjustment might have a profound impact on how audiences interact with news content. As per Musk's recent announcement, X is preparing to veer away from traditional approaches by removing the usual headlines and accompanying text when sharing news article links on the platform. Instead, the focus will be solely on the prominent main image associated with the article. This alteration, which was first reported by Fortune, is attributed directly to Musk.

Industry experts posit that this strategic decision could be seen as Musk's attempt to enhance user engagement on X and steer their focus towards subscribing to an exclusive service that provides more comprehensive insights.

Thomson Set To Enter India Laptop Market

Thomson, a prominent French electronics manufacturer, has taken a step into the laptop market in India, following its success in various European nations. The company is actively working on establishing a partnership with a local contract manufacturer based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This collaboration aims to facilitate the domestic assembly of laptops within India. A senior executive's remarks shed light on this initiative.

Notably, Thomson had previously re-entered the Indian market in 2018 through a strategic alliance with SPPL, a domestic company, a strategy reminiscent of brands like Blaupunkt. Unlike its current presence focused on selling televisions exclusively through the Flipkart e-commerce platform, Thomson is set to adopt a similar approach for its laptop sales in India.
