Thomson To Start Laptop Manufacturing In India
French electronics manufacturer Thomson is the latest brand to foray into the laptop category in India. The OEM is working towards finalising a local contract manufacturer based out of Noida, Uttar Pradesh to start assembling devices within the country, said a report by ET Telecom, quoting a senior executive. Thomson is currently selling its laptops in several European countries, including France.

Samsung India has announced it received 150,000 pre-bookings for its newly-launched foldables -- Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones. The pre-bookings were opened on July 27 and closed on August 17. The pre-bookings for "Made in India" Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 in India are 1.5 times of the previous generation of foldables, indicating strong demand and growing preferences for our category-defining foldable smartphones, according to Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India.
