Lava Agni, The Company's First 5G Smartphone, Launched For Rs. 17,999

Domestic handset maker Lava on Tuesday launched its first 5G smartphone, Agni, in India at an introductory price of Rs. 17,999.

New Delhi: Domestic handset maker Lava on Tuesday launched its first 5G smartphone, Agni, in India at an introductory price of Rs. 17,999. Powered by Mediatek Dimensity 810 chipset, the device is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery backed by a 30W superfast charger that promises to fully charge in less than 90 minutes. Agni 5G also offers optimised battery consumption as it features a 6nm chipset which ensures lower power consumption.

This best-in-class smartphone, completely conceived and made in India, is dedicated to every #ProudlyIndian smartphone user that dreams of seeing their country as the next tech superpower," Sunil Raina, President & Business Head, Lava International Limited, said in a statement, during the launch.

The phone comes with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, and a rectangular camera module that house quad-cameras at the rear and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. There is a 90Hz LCD display, 64MP primary camera, a 16MP selfie camera, and 128GB expandable storage. The phone runs on Android 11 OS.

The price of Lava Agni 5G in India is Rs. 19,999 for the 8GB+128GB storage variant, but it will be available at a special introductory price of Rs. 17,999 by paying an advance of Rs. 500 for pre-booking. The device will available via brick and mortar retail stores, the online Lava e-store and online portals. The Lava Agni 5G will go on sale starting November 18 at 12 PM on Amazon India, Flipkart as well as lavamobiles.com.

The phone comes with a special pre-booking offer that lets the buyer avail a discount of Rs. 2,000, according to the handset maker. The pre-booking window is open for users bwteen 9 November-17 November on the Lava e-store and on Amazon India.

Other specs of the Lava Agni 5G include Lava Agni include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port for charging.

The phone features a 6.78-inch FHD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is powered by the 2.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset and comes in a single storage configuration that can be further expandable via a microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 11 OS with a near-stock UI custom skin on top and a 5000mAh battery. The device supports 30W fast charging.
